Bei so einem riesigen Festival sieht man nunmal nicht alles, vieles bekommt man gar nicht mit.

Wir sollten hier aber nun mal wieder zum Thema zurückkommen; es geht um Sabbath, nicht Wacken.

Naja, wenn ich beispielsweise daran denke, wie 2008 diese Penner in der Nacht von Donnerstag auf Freitag eine Batterie an Dixies angesteckt haben und aufgrund des Feuers ein nebenstehendes Auto in Flammen aufging, dessen darin schlafender Fahrer fast bei lebendigem Leibe verbrannt wäre; hört der Spaß für mich auf!!

Okay gut, das wusste ich nicht, sowas ist scheiße, seh ich ein! Nur ich persönlich habe halt NUR gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Aber back to topic..

mal eine Frage: Gab es nicht 2005 bereits so eine Art Reunion ? Waren beim Ozzfest nicht Osbourne, Iommi und Butler zusammen dabei ?

Die Reunion fand bereits 1997 statt, da wurde dann auch das "Reunion" Live-Album veröffentlicht mit zwei neuen Songs. Das hielt dann bis 2005 oder 2006 an, wo sie sich dann wieder in der Dio-Ära Besetzung vereint haben und als "Heaven & Hell" getourt und "The Devil You Know" veröffentlicht haben. Offiziell ist Black Sabbath eigentlich immer noch im Ozzy Lineup zusammen, also wäre es nicht mal ne richtige Reunion.

Guitarist Tony Iommi has told U.K.'s Terrorizer magazine that the four original members of BLACK SABBATH recently got together in a rehearsal room for the first time in years, adding, "[We] played some of the old stuff and to be together again was great. We're all on good terms and we're at a stage where we can play together again. It would be good if we could and I suppose it's the closest it's been to be able to do that. It could happen!"

When asked by Planet Rock DJ Darren Redick about the rumors that the four original members of BLACK SABBATH are planning a reunion, Iommi said, "At the moment we're in talks [about] it. But what's gonna happen with it, I don't know. There's no definite decision on anything at the moment, but at least it's going… We're talking… we're all talking to each other. We've met up, had a play [rehearsal], and it was great. But you never like to say… We haven't announced anything yet, because nothing's definite. We're taking it steady, because these things have a tendency to backfire. 'Oh, you said you were getting back together, but you haven't.' So I don't know. We'll have to see. It would be nice to think we could, and I think we would all like to do it, but it's a bit more involved than that."

At a press conference in Los Angeles this morning at 11:11AM on 11/11/11, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, & Ozzy Osbourne appeared to announce that Black Sabbath Mk I is back together again and will be releasing their first new full album of material since 1978's "Never Say Die!". Granted, the last official full album by "Black Sabbath" was 1995's Forbidden, and the last full album of material that could be called Black Sabbath was 2008's "The Devil You Know". And don't forget the 1998 Mk I release, "Reunion", which had two new tracks on it.

Announced today at the site of were two simple things.

1) They would be putting out a full new studio album with the original lineup. No release date, no title, and no record label news as of yet. It will be produced by Rick Rubin, though. Nothing has yet been recorded, but there has been writing going on for a few months now. I've also been told it's all new stuff. The material they wrote back in 2001, which included "Scary Dreams" won't be used. But until the album is in our hands, one can never be 100% sure, eh?

2) Just one live date - the Download festival on June 10, 2012. There will be more after that, but just one gig announced now.

I do wonder what effect this will have on other projects in various stages by the guys, like Tony's writing with Ian Gillan in the spring for a possible full album of material from that collaboration. The previously talked about fourth GZR album, as well as Bill Ward's "Beyond Aston" (where the fuck is that, Bill?) Ozzy just came off a large world tour for his Scream album, so he's probably not doing anything else solo for a bit.

I inquired about who might be handling keyboards for the project, and was told it hadn't yet been announced. But my gut feeling says either Adam Wakeman or Geoff Nicholls. We'll find out soon enough on that.

The press conference was filmed, I was told that video of it will turn up online, but when exactly isn't known. Will post more news as it comes out.
