Ein Thread zur neuen Rush darf natürlich hier auch nicht fehlen.
It is coming along fantastic, we have recorded two songs already and we released them last year and then the band went on tour. But we are currently in preproduction right now so that we can finish the rest of the record which we will start recording again in mid October.

... Currently, Rush, producer Nick Raskulinecz and myself are reconvening to complete the recording of Rush's next studio album Clockwork Angels. Sorry, no timeline for completion yet ...
Nichts konkretes, aber immerhin sind sie am arbeiten.

RUSH Frontman Says New Album Should Arrive Next Spring - Oct. 28, 2011
Earlier this week, Andy Greene of RollingStone.com conducted an interview with bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee of Canadian rock legends RUSH. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
RollingStone.com: What's the status of the next album?
Geddy: We're almost finished writing. We wound the machine back up about three weeks ago. After a sluggish start, we've had a very fruitful couple of weeks in terms of writing. I'm very pleased with the direction that the material has taken. And I think we have one or two more songs that we'd like to write, and then we'll start recording in earnest. Hopefully we'll have all of the recording done before Christmas. Then we'll mix it some time in the next year, and then get it out.
RollingStone.com: Wow. So it'll be out sometime early next year?
Geddy: Yeah. I hope it'll be out by the spring anyway.
RollingStone.com: Is the sound of the album similar to "Snakes & Arrows"?
Geddy: I think it's a little different than "Snakes & Arrows". It's not finished so it's hard to say exactly what it will sound like in totality, but I think that the direction of "Caravan" and "BU2B" sort of points in the direction that we're going.
RollingStone.com: With a new album in the spring, will you be touring in the summer?
Geddy: Well, there will be a tour. I can't tell you exactly when. Maybe the summer or maybe the fall. We need some time to organize all that, but we have started to do that at the same time. But yes, there will be a follow-up tour to support the record.
RollingStone.com: I think back to the late 1990s and early 2000s when there was essentially no RUSH. It would have been hard to imagine that a decade was coming with so much activity.
Geddy: I think that it's a good time for us right now. We feel invigorated by the success of the band. We feel invigorated by the quality of the material that we seem to be able to write. Frankly, I think we've come to a point in our lives where we feel like we're playing the best we've ever played as a live band. You don't know how long that's going to go. Rock and roll does have its limits as far as the aging process. You want to go out there and play while you're at your peak, right? I think that's encouraging us to keep going out on the road — to maximize the playing at the moment.
Do you think you guys might perform another album on a future tour?
I think we would. I would love to try that idea again. I thought it was really fun. And given the fact that we play for almost three hours, you can do that and still have lots of time left over to play other stuff. We had time for our newer songs and we had time for more obscure songs. So it kind of works in the way we present ourselves.
I'd love to hear 2112 straight through.
I think that's something that would be fun to try.
Do you think it's possible?
Oh yeah, it's definitely possible.

... We're in the studio right now. We're plowing away on a new record. Things are going really, really well. We've got all the material written. We've got a few tracks that Neil's done his drum parts on - that's slowly evolving. I'm pretty excited about it actually. It's very fresh - at least for me. From behind these eyes it seems pretty fresh and exciting. Strong melodies and really we're having a ball working on this record. You know Geddy and I have been writing music together for over 40 years and it's amazing to me how we are so excited to get into the studio every day that we work together. And we're like little kids - the kids that we always were when we started this many years ago. ... We're probably a little over a week ahead of our schedule right now, which is pretty amazing for us. ...
According to a tweet from Rush sound engineer Rich Chycki from earlier today, Rush has wrapped up their 2-month stint of recording at Revolution Studio in Toronto for their upcoming Clockwork Angels album.
Although he doesn't explicitly mention Rush in this tweet, it's apparent from other recent tweets and interviews that the Rush recording is what's being referred to here. The fact that the recording is finished has also been corroborated by other anonymous sources close to the band. Rush have mixing booked for after the New Year and should be on track for a Spring release. Guitar World readers recently voted Clockwork Angels as the most anticipated album of 2012.
