An update: I’m pleased to report that after what I know has been a very long and frustrating wait, your items are on the move and the distributors expect everything to be out the door and on its way to you within the next seven days. FC members in Ireland are getting theirs first as that’s where our distributor is located, to be followed by the rest of the EU.
So what took so long? Bad timing — it took half a year to design and create this item in the first place, and while we all wish we had a magic wand the only route forward was to investigate and agree a plan (September), test and manufacture replacement fitments (October/November), and find a team and fulfilment house who we were satisfied would be up to the task (which was not helped by the Christmas period.)
Anyone who’s worked with multiple teams will know nothing happens quickly, and while every priority has been given to fix this issue by Phantom and all involved, the bottom line is that has taken longer than anyone is happy with including us, and we’re really appreciative of your patience as we worked through this process with the third parties who put these items together while hatching a plan to ensure that these would arrive safely with you.
This means that your boxes will not arrive with all contents placed inside. Instead they have been packed separately. This is because internal movement and pressure from the fitments was determined to be the root cause of most of the damage being reported, and so the teams involved determined this to be the safest method of shipping. It’s also why we chose foam for the new fitments, on the recommendation of our supplier — other options were cost and time prohibitive, and we didn’t wish to see further delay here. We all thought they looked better than any other options, too.
I’ve attached a reference photo for how it’s meant to look once everything has been placed inside the box using the foam fitments which were made especially for this purpose.
